Coronavirus in Kane Co.: 36 Deaths, 651 Cases As Of Monday

Eleven people died in Kane County from the new coronavirus over the past week, according to Coroner Rob Russell.

KANE COUNTY, IL — More than 200 people tested positive for the new coronavirus and 11 people died from related complications over the past week in Kane County, Coroner Rob Russell announced Monday. The county has now seen 36 coronavirus deaths and 651 people have tested positive since the county’s first confirmed case was reported March 10.

Russell emphasized that all deaths at Kane County hospitals are included in the statistics, though not all are Kane County residents. County and state health officials are working to identify where people first contracted the disease, which has led to some statistical discrepancies, Russell said in a news release.

“Both numbers are correct but have different perspectives,” he said. “Both are vitally important.”
