Defunding programs so that they fail and are ready to privatize.

Friday, about 40 of us gathered outside the Geneva American Legion where our Representative Randy Hultgren was having an event for veterans. We have been asking Randy for a town hall meeting for 7 weeks now. We gather at his office in Campton Hills every Tuesday. As he left the event we politely called to him asking him to come and talk to us. He had a chance to disarm our movement. Instead, he waved, smiled like a movie star and walked away from us.

Some of the vets came out and said, more of the same, no answers. He listened to complaints. I think he loves the complaints, because it gives him ammunition to privatize the VA. Think about this, we have added vets to the VA roles for 70 years. We have a culture of perpetual war; bringing in thousands of vets needing care every year. Yet, we have not increased the size of the VA to meet their needs. We have thousands of homeless vets, vets attempting and committing suicide. We are not keeping our promise. Instead people like Randy Hultgren are decreasing funds to the VA and putting a ban on future hiring. Is that patriotic. Our vets deserve better than that, America. They were promised healthcare. The VA can't function if it is not properly funded. But those like Randy Hultgren keep choking it hoping that the complaints will get large enough to sway the population to want to get rid of it and give the business to for profit hospitals. WAKE UP..they defund things so that they fail, then say, see....government can't do its job. WAKE up America. Keep your promise to our vets, to our children, to our citizens. Stop the defunding of programs that are there to help us.
