Demolition of Sixth Street School Starts Today
Contractors will begin to tear down the former school at 210 S. Sixth Street.

A Kane County contractor will begin demolition operations of the former Sixth Street School building in Geneva on Wednesday.
The city of Geneva issued a demolition permit on Tuesday allowing contractors to move forward with taking down the building at 210 S. Sixth Street, according to a city of Geneva press release. The demolition is scheduled to last three week. Final completion of the project is anticipated to be six weeks, weather permitting.

Construction crews are permitted to work on the project between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
