Dog and Puppy Foster Homes Needed Friday 4/26

Will you please help us bring these pups to safety?

It's Spring….and that means our shelter partners are over "pup"ulated with unwanted dogs and puppies!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue does not have a physical location, we rely upon the generosity of families that open their homes to provide a temporary Safe Haven. We can only save as many pups as we have foster homes.

These dogs and puppies pictured have the chance to come to Illinois on Friday April 26th, but we need committed foster homes to make that happen. We are asking the community to help us help them!

Mycroft is a 60lb 2 year old Lab Mix

Mycroft was picked up as a stray by Animal Control in late February. He is named after Sherlock Holmes' smarter older brother. And Mycroft is very smart. He is also a gentleman. He keeps his kennel clean every day and is very gentle with everyone he meets. He also likes to give hugs and kisses. He is so happy to be around people! he is not reactive to other dogs.

Marigold About 2 years old and her beautiful babies!

This poor girl wandered her way into the county landfill because it was the only place she felt safe enough to have her puppies! She is in the shelter now, which is no place for puppies! We believe the babies are about 3.5 weeks old and Marigold would sure appreciate a home where she can raise her babies safely. The puppies will need another 2 weeks with their mom and can then be separated into other foster homes if needed. They will be available for adoption after they are 8 weeks old.

5 “B” Puppies

These puppies are believed to be about 12-15 weeks old Lab mixes and weigh between 12 and 17lbs. There are 4 girls and 1 boy. Bertha, Barry, Bella, Bess, and Belinda. We know these aren’t the best pictures, but believe us, they are beautiful!

  • Have you been thinking about adding a canine companion to your family but not certain?
  • Or have you ever wondered if your dog would like a playmate?
  • Would you like to have the first choice to adopt if the dog or puppy is a good fit?

NOW is your chance!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue pays for all vetting (done locally in Geneva, South Elgin, Wheaton, Naperville and Elmhurst) and provides you with a crate, collar, leash, food, treats, toys, puppy pads, and more while you foster.

Fostering is the most life giving thing you can do for a dog or puppy! It is a very rewarding experience that will make a huge impact on their life. By becoming a foster you are saving 2 lives - the animal you bring into your home while he or she waits to be adopted, and the animal who gets to take your foster’s place in the shelter.

For more information about fostering or for a foster home application, please email safehavendogsil@yahoo.com ASAP...we need to know before Thursday (4/25) at 1pm in order to get them vetted and on transport.

If you are not in a position to foster, please SHARE this information to help us find fosters!
