Ehrhardt Second in 3-Mile at Leavey Invite in St. Charles

Geneva High School's Tess Ehrhardt, Liza Tauscher and Rachel Hammond turned in top-10 finishes Saturday in the Jeff Leavey Cross Country Invitational at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve.
Competing in ideal conditions on the picturesque forest preserve course, Ehrhardt was the Vikings' top finisher in the girls' 3-mile varsity race, placing second to Bartlett's Alyssa Schneider.
Senior teammates Tauscher and Hammond were sixth and ninth, respectively, for coach Bob Thomson's Vikings, who placed fifth in the Class 3A state meet a year ago.

About 1,500 runners were registered from area high schools to compete in the annual event.
