Foster Homes Needed THIS Saturday 8/25/18!

Our partner shelter in Tennessee if overflowing and the influx of dogs and puppies has put them in a situation that will force them to euthanize for space unless they can find rescue to make room.

These dogs and puppies have the opportunity to come to safety in Illinois on this Saturday August 25th but Safe Haven Dog Rescue needs committed foster homes to make that happen!

Fostering a dog or puppy will not only save this dog’s life, but will save the life of the dog in the shelter that takes it’s place in the kennel. You will be saving 2 dogs by fostering one! Safe Haven Dog Rescue needs your help, please help us help them!

The D pups- Debbie, Delanie, Dexter and Deloris- 10 week old puppies. Can they hang out at your house for a couple of weeks so they can be rescued from the shelter? They can be fostered as singles, pairs, or all together for the adventurous!

Durbin, male, 1-2 yrs. Short Coat Collie mix. A beautiful and sweet, sweet boy...walks a few paces and then flops over for you to give him a belly rub. Durbin has an old leg injury that we would like to have looked at by our vet and treat if needed.

Sugar Baby! 1 year old Female Rat Terrier Mix. Super sweet and loves to be loved, just wants to be near you or, even better, on your lap!

Look at Rocky!!! He's BEAUTIFUL!!! Lab/Flat Coat retriever mix?? He's a great size, only about 30 lbs. Unfortunately he's HW+ so he's going to need to be treated. However, he's a sweet boy so he'll be a great house guest. Medium energy level on this guy!

Since Rocky has Heartworm disease, he will need a family that can commit 2-3 months of time to foster him. Heartworm disease is 100% preventable if kept current on Heartgard. It is also cureable, but the treatment takes time. During the first 30 days, Rocky would have no restrictions. He would be on antibiotics for 30 days. After that time, he would need to be neutered. Once neutered and healed, he can begin the second portion of the heartworm treatment. This consists of 2 injections given 24 hours apart. Once he has the injections, it is important to keep his heart rate down and have him rest in order to kill the worms. 30 days after the injections, Rocky would be available for adoption!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue pays for all vetting (done locally in Geneva, South Elgin, Wheaton, Naperville and Elmhurst) and provides you with a crate, collar, leash, food, treats, toys, and more while you foster.
