Fox River Clean Up Postponed Due To Rain, High Water Level

If you couldn't make the previously scheduled Fox River clean up day, here's your chance to do some good.

GENEVA, IL — The Fox River Clean Up Day has been postponed due to rain and high water levels from the river, according to a city Facebook post.

"Unfortunately due to the rain and high water level of the Fox River, we are going to have to reschedule the Fox River clean up," the post said.

Formerly set for Sunday, Sept. 29, the new date for the Fox River clean up is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m to noon at Island Park.

Volunteers should park at the water treatment plant and walk to the spillway or rid bikes to the island's south end.

"Luckily, this will give those who couldn’t make it this weekend a chance to make the new date," the city said in the Facebook post.
