Fox Valley Marathon Will Impact Geneva Traffic In September
The marathon will begin in St. Charles and head south into Geneva.
GENEVA, IL — The Fox Valley Marathon racecourse will pass through Geneva Sept. 17, requiring several street closures in town.
The marathon will begin in St. Charles and head south into Geneva.
Here's a look at what streets will be shut down between 7-9 a.m. that day:

- Route 31 from Roosevelt Street in St. Charles to Third Street near the Kane County Government Center
- Stevens Street from Route 31 to Richards Street
- Ford Street from Route 31 to Sixth Street
- Richards Street from Stevens to Peyton streets
- Peyton Street from Richards Street to Route 31
- State Street (Route 38) from Route 25 to Seventh Street
- James Street from Route 31 to Fifth Street
- Fifth Street from James to Campbell streets
- Campbell Street from Fifth to Third streets
- Third Street from Campbell to Fulton streets
- Fulton Street from Third Street to Route 31
Detour routes will be in place. Drivers traveling eastbound on State Street will turn south on Seventh Street, east on Fulton Street, south on Fourth Street, east on South Street, south on Third Street, south on Route 31, east on Fabyan Parkway and north on Route 25. Westbound traffic will use the same route in reverse.
The detour in place for drivers taking southbound Route 31 in St. Charles will send cars west on Roosevelt Street, south on Third Street, east on State Street, south on Seventh Street, east on Fulton Street, south on Fourth Street, east on South Street, south on Third Street and south on Route 31. Northbound traffic will use the same route in reverse.
