Friendship Station Preschool Hosts Open House Ahead Of Registration

Thursday's event will allow prospective parents to meet teachers, explore classrooms and learn about the school's programs.

GENEVA, IL — Friendship Station Preschool will host an open house Thursday, a week before registration opens to residents.

Families are invited to tour the school, located at 2960 Blackman Road in Geneva, from 5:30-7 p.m. During that time, prospective parents can meet teachers, explore classrooms and learn about enrichment programs.

Friendship Station Preschool is operated by the Geneva Park District. All lead teachers at the school hold bachelor's degrees in early childhood education or a related field and receive ongoing training.

"Friendship Station Preschool is guided by the philosophy of learning through play," park district executives said. "Children learn to share, create, cooperate, interact, and solve problems in a supportive and interesting environment. Because each child is individual and unique, emphasis is placed on developing a positive self-image."

Resident registration for the 2023 school year at Friendship Station begins Feb. 2, while non-resident registration starts Feb. 16.

Currently, the school offers full- and half-day options for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Additional themed classes are also offered to extend children's learning and play experience, officials said.
