Funds Raised For 'Nontraditional Support' For Cancer Patients

The Colette A. Miles Foundation is sponsoring their 4th annual Raising Hope Dinner on February 10 in Geneva.

From the Downtown St. Charles Partnership: The Colette A. Miles Foundation (TCAMF) is sponsoring their 4th annual Raising Hope Dinner on February 10, 2018 at Riverside Receptions in Geneva. All proceeds of the dinner go directly toward helping people that have been diagnosed with cancer. “Many people have specific needs and requests while fighting this life altering disease,” according to Irene Eby, President of TCAMF.

The St. Charles-based not-for-profit organization provides nontraditional support for cancer patients throughout Fox Valley. “Our volunteers have walked dogs, mowed lawns, shoveled driveways, and watched children. But, it doesn’t end there. We’ve purchased I-Pads for the Cancer Center at Northwestern Medicine in Geneva and donated funds for children and teens to receive counseling at LivingWell Cancer Resource Center,” states Eby. TCAMF also supports Fox Valley Food For Health in delivering chef-prepared, cancer fighting meals to patients and their families.

The vision for TCAMF was inspired by Colette A. Miles, who lost her battle to cancer in 2011. Her resilient spirit lives on through the people she loved and through The Colette A. Miles Foundation. This charity was started by those very same friends and family that supported her throughout her battle with cancer, devoted to helping cancer patients with daily tasks that most take for granted. The Colette A. Miles Foundation continues to make a huge impact in the lives of cancer patients throughout

the Fox Valley community. TCAMF works hard to support every patient, as they believe no one should have to fight cancer alone.

Irene and her amazing board of directors and volunteers have created a powerful movement that impacts people’s lives through simple, yet nontraditional ways. The charity is proud of the many lives it has changed, however, they seek to expand their reach to even more lives needing their help. Visit TCAMF.org to nominate a cancer patient that may need services.
