Gas Gauge: Meijer Best of the Pack
Gas Guage cup runneths over, but the best deal in recent weeks is at Meijer on the West Side.
Not to spark any more of that East Side / West Side debate, but it does look like the trophy for the best gasoline price in Geneva is going to the West Side more often these days.
That's because Meijer's price for a gallon of unleaded has been consistently lowest in recent gas gauge sightings—tops in four of the past five weeks. Meijer wasn't always the league leader, and we'll continue to watch for a trend.
Shell is the only station to beat Meijer's unblemished streak of the past five weeks. That was on April 11, when Shell stuck to $3.99 longer than any of its Geneva competitors.

The station that seems to have thrown in the towel is the Marathon on the East Side. This morning, Marathon was at $4.19—10 cents higher than Shell, just across the street.
The average price of a gallon of gas continues to edge up. It's $4.10 in Geneva, which is 2 cents more than a week ago.

I should also mention that the gas prices were gathered at around 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 25.
