Gas Price Update: Geneva Prices Continue To Rise
A month ago, the average price per gallon was about 58 cents less than it is this week. Here is where you can find the cheapest gas in town.
GENEVA, IL — Throughout March and into April, gas prices continued to decrease in Illinois. But now in May, that's no longer the case. In Geneva, prices continue to increase from previous weeks.
As of Wednesday, the average price for gas in Illinois is about $4.92 per gallon, according to AAA. That's up 15 cents from the week before and 58 cents from a month ago.
At around $4.94 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were slightly above the state average.

Nationally Friday, the average was about $4.57 per gallon.
With prices as high as they are, you can still save a little bit if you know where to look in Geneva.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Geneva is selling for $5.09 per gallon at Amstar, 1501 E. State St. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
- Amoco, 1166 E. State St.; $5.15 per gallon
- Shell at 1491 E. State St.; $5.15 per gallon
