Gas Price Update: Geneva Prices Plateau Slightly
The average price for a gallon of gas in Kane County was $3.47 as of Friday.
GENEVA, IL — Although the national average for a gallon of gas has dipped slightly, prices seem to have plateaued in Illinois.
As of Friday, the average price for a gallon of gas in Illinois was $3.54 — that's down 2 cents from a week ago and 10 cents from a month ago, according to AAA.
At around $3.47 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were decently below the state average. Nationally, the price per gallon of gas is going for an average of $3.39 Friday.

"The cost for oil accounts for 55% of what we pay at the pump," Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement, "so higher or lower oil costs will play a major role in the price we pay when fuel-ing up."
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Geneva is selling for $3.39 per gallon at Amoco, 1166 E. State St. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
