Gas Price Update: Geneva Prices See Slight Decrease
The average price for gas in Kane County was about $5.68 per gallon Monday. Here is where to find the least expensive gas in town.

GENEVA, IL — The more time passes, the more painful it gets for Geneva residents to see the price of a tank of gas. But after a period of sharp increase, prices are decreasing slightly.
Prices in Illinois remain high, with the average price for gas being $5.43 per gallon as of Monday, according to AAA. That's 7 cents cheaper than a week ago.
At around $5.62 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were above the state average.

Nationally Monday, the average was still under $5 at about $4.90 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Geneva is selling for $5.72 per gallon at Amstar, 1501 E. State St. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
- Amoco at 1166 E. State St.; $5.74 per gallon
- Shell at 1491 E. State St.; $5.74 per gallon
- CITGO at 618 S. First St.; $5.85 per gallon
