GENEVA, IL — Fall activities are on the horizon, and in Geneva, the Geneva Park District Foundation is gearing up to host its annual Autumn Fair Sept. 17.

The event, where admission is free, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road. Activities will include a petting zoo, pony rides, children's games, crafts, a birds of prey demonstration and musical entertainment. Pumpkins, among other seasonal items, will also be for sale.

Some events at the Autumn Fair will cost "minimal fees," officials said, but all proceeds will benefit the Foundation's special projects.

While at Peck Farm Park, organizers encourage participants to check out the observation silo, visit the Hawks Hollow Nature Playground and see butterflies at the Butterfly House — which closes for the season following the event.

The basket raffle is also returning at this year's event. Tickets, which cost $5 or 5 for $20, can be purchased at the Autumn Fair or at Sunset Community Park, Peck Farm Park Interpretive Center or the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center prior to the event.
