Geneva Chamber Announces Virtual Swedish Days

The traditional summertime festival may be canceled, but the Geneva Chamber of Commerce is planning a virtual Swedish Days for 2020.

The traditional summertime festival may be canceled, but the Geneva Chamber of Commerce is planning a virtual Swedish Days for 2020.

“While the actual event has been canceled due to COVID-19, we still wanted to recognize Swedish Days this year,” said Laura Rush, Geneva Chamber of Commerce Communications Manager.

Assorted events that can be done virtually Thursday to Sunday, June 25-28 have been posted on the Chamber’s website, including kids’ activities, concerts and Swedish Days history options.

Additionally, the Geneva Chamber will be selling Swedish Days 2020...NOPE! T-shirts for $14 each. Sizes available will be M, L, XL and can be ordered online. Proceeds will be evenly distributed to non-profit food booths who had signed up to sell at Swedish Days this year.

“We recognize that for our non-profits, their food booths during Swedish Days is one of their largest fundraisers. All of these organizations benefit so many others and since we are not able to enjoy their delicacies in person, we feel this is a wonderful way to support them,” Rush said.

Another option to indulge in Swedish fun is to buy a Swedish Days Box. Loaded with Swedish goodies, it can be purchased on the online as long as supplies last.People are encouraged to visit the Chamber’s website and experience Swedish Days a little differently this year. The Swedish Days 2021 festival is scheduled to take place June 22-27.
