Geneva Commons Upgrades To Include Outdoor Gathering Space

GENEVA, IL -- Renovations are in the works at Geneva Commons that are meant to offer shoppers a "park-like gathering" green space in the center's central commons area, the Daily Herald reports. The upgrades will include the addition of a fireplace, life-size chessboard and comfortable seats.

The Commons already schedules all sorts of outdoor concerts and other events, so any sort of upgrade to its outdoor gathering places will be welcome. Managers say the upgraded common areas should be in place for the holiday shopping season.

Heun notes the plans at Geneva Commons are similar to what those involved with the Charlestowne Mall "talked about and drew pretty pictures of" but weren't able to actually execute.
