The Geneva Community Chest Announces Registration is Open for the MIDSOMMAR 5K Fun Run/Walk Saturday, July 15

Press Release for Midsommar 5k Fun Run/Walk and Lil' Vikings Kids Dash presented by the Geneva Community Chest in Geneva Illinois

Geneva, IL June 2017 – The Geneva Community Chest is pleased to announce that registration is open for the Midsommar 5k Fun/Run Walk on Saturday July 15, 2017 through its website at geneva5k.com or www.genevacommunitychest.org. The jaguar chip-timed, USATF certified 5k run/walk will start at 8:00AM at the Gunnar Anderson Forest Preserve (behind the Kane County Gov’t Center) located at 719 S. Batavia Avenue in Geneva, Illinois. The Lil’ Vikings Kids Dash will start immediately after completion of the 5k race. This race event is sponsored by State Bank of Geneva and Northwestern Medicine and presented by the Geneva Community Chest. All participants will receive a high quality tech shirt and custom medals will be provided to the 1st place male and female and the top 3 finishers for male and female for each age category. In addition, a pre-race banana bar will be open for participants and snacks, water and coffee after the completion of the race.

“The Geneva Community Chest is very excited to host an event that brings the community together,” said Race Director and Vice President, Ryan Moen. “We host events like this race because it is family friendly, promotes healthy lifestyles and allows for people of all age groups to participate in the event.”
