Geneva Dentist Buying Back Halloween Candy to Help Support Troops

Geneva Family Dental has teamed up with Operation Gratitude and will be collecting candy through Thursday.

GENEVA, IL - Halloween is officially over. And, if you are like most families with children, there is plenty of Halloween candy left following your trick-or-treating excursions.

Or, perhaps, you did not get as many trick-or-treaters at your home as anticipated and you have a big bowl of treats left on your counter.

Either way, not everyone wants those tempting sugary treats lying around.

One Geneva dental office, Geneva Family Dental, has teamed up with Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to military troops who are deployed overseas, to collect candy.

Last year, the local dentist office at 2631 Williamsburg Avenue, Suite 201 in Geneva, collected over 300 pounds of candy, according to the Geneva Family Dental Facebook page. This year, for each pound your child brings in, they will receive $1 and a free toothbrush Up to five pounds will be accepted.

You can drop of your candy from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3.
