Geneva High To Host Regional College Fair

Reps from more than 160 in-state and out-of-state colleges will be at the April event.

GENEVA, IL - From Geneva CUSD 304: Geneva High School will host the Fox Valley’s 2019 Illinois Regional College Fair from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 4. Representatives from more than 160 in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities will be available to meet students and answer their questions. The event is not only open to GHS students, but also to: Batavia, Burlington-Central, Kaneland, South Elgin, St. Charles East, St. Charles North, and West Chicago.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our students to learn more about colleges and universities from admissions experts,” said GHS Director of Counseling and Advising David King. “These professionals are extensions of the campus and this is a great way for our students to show their true interest in a school while also determining their 'best fit' university or college. It’s also so close to home, this is a can’t miss opportunity!” King added.

More than 40 public and private Illinois-based institutions of higher education have confirmed attendance as well as more than 120 schools from other states. International schools will also be represented.

“Students should treat this like an initial interview,” King said. “They are interviewing the school as much as the representatives are learning about their educational passions. They should come prepared with 2-3 specific questions and a game plan of schools to visit. There are only two hours allotted for the fair, and each visit should be meaningful,” he added.

Registration is now open at www.strivescan.com.
