Geneva High School's ACT Scores Far Outpace State Average

The class of 2015 had an average composite ACT score of 24.3.

Geneva High School students continue to receive high ACT scores, school officials said this past week.

The class of 2015 received an average ACT composite score of 24.3, which is well above the state average of 20.7 and the national average of 21, according to a Geneva Community Unit School District 304 press release. This keeps with a long-standing tradition of Geneva High students far outpacing the state and national average.

It is also the second-highest average ACT score a graduating class has earned in the past 10 years at the high school. The class of 2013 earned the only higher score of 24.6.

“We have incredibly hard-working students in Geneva School District, and these high scores are just one example of the success that has come from that dedication to education,” said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler. “We are also very thankful to our staff, parents, and community for the value they place on education in Geneva and for their continuous support of our students to help each and every one succeed.”

In 2015, the ACT, which is graded on a 36-point scale, was taken by every Illinois high school student regardless of post-high school plans, according to the news release.
