Geneva Homecoming Parade: See What Streets Will Close For The Annual Event

Viking pride will overtake Geneva at the start of October for the annual homecoming parade through the downtown area.

GENEVA, IL — Viking pride will overtake Geneva Oct. 2 as Geneva High School celebrates homecoming with its annual parade downtown.

State Street between Third and Ninth streets is set to close at 2 p.m. that Friday for the parade.

The following streets on the route will also be closed to traffic to make way for the procession:

  • Geneva High School/Stevens Street east to Anderson Boulevard
  • Anderson Boulevard south to State Street
  • State Street east to Third Street
  • Third Street north to Stevens Street

As a result, eastbound drivers will be directed to follow this detour route: From State Street, turn south on Ninth Street, east on James Street, north on Third Street, and back east on State Street. The route is reversed for westbound cars.

All streets are expected to reopen by 3:30 p.m.
