Geneva HS Board Opts for Used Modular Classrooms
More space, for cheaper than a new unit, or expansion to the school.

The Geneva District 304 will save some money by going with a used six-classroom modular unit rather than a new one, and instead of expanding Geneva High School, the board voted this week.
The extra space is needed to accommodate additional programs at the school, officials said, but a new unit would cost the district about $700,000, compared to $500,00 for a used one. Expansion of the high school is estimated at a price of $1 million, officials said—a project that could be about 10 years off.
The 6,000-square-foot, six-classroom, two-restroom modular unit is a short-term solution to the district’s space issued.
