Geneva Park District Announces Lineup for Concerts, Movies in Park

 GENEVA, IL - The Geneva Park District on Tuesday announced its summer lineup for its “Concerts in the Park” and “Movies in the Park” series.

The park district’s free concerts will be held every Wednesday in July at Island Park in downtown Geneva. The series will kick off on July 6 and all concerts will being at 7 p.m.

Here is a look at the full Concerts in the Park lineup:

• July 6/Spoken Four: Fun, high-energy band that will definitely bring the “party” playing everything from rock n’ roll to pop hits. Join us at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a performance prior to the concert from from the Geneva Park District Sunset Dancers Dance Company
• July 13/Morry Sochat & the Special 20s: A mix of blues, swing and vintage rock n’ roll. Join us at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a performance prior to the concert from the Geneva Park District Angel’s Cheer & Pom Team
• July 20//The StingRays: Go back a few decades and enjoy the Rock n’ Roll classics of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s
• July 27/Mr. Myers: Tropical sounds of reggae, Caribbean rock and classic rock

The Geneva Park District will also host Movies in the Park again this summer--another free series that is held throughout the summer. All movies begin at dusk or around 8:30 p.m. Here is a look at this summer’s movie lineup:

• June 9/Inside Out at Moore Park: This movie is Rated PG. Moore Park is located at 877 Geneva Dr. in Geneva
• July 7/Jurassic World at Wheeler Park: This movie is Rated PG-13. Wheeler Park, located off Rt. 31 in Geneva
• August 4/Goonies at Island Park: This movie is Rated PG. Island Park is located at 2 E. State Street. For parking: enter off Route 25 and Crissey Avenue, by water treatment plant. Walk on path around to park.
