Geneva Police To Participate In Drug Take-Back Day
The event aims to provide community members with a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs.
GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Police Department will collect unwanted or expired prescription medications as part of National Drug Take-Back Day, officials announced Tuesday.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at the police station, 20 Police Plaza in Geneva.
"The collection service is free and anonymous, no questions asked," officials said in a news release. "After 2 p.m. Oct. 29, the Police Department will revert to its current practice of accepting unused medication from only Geneva residents."

During the drive-thru-style event, staff will accept prescription medications, used medical sharps and diabetic supplies.
Items accepted include prescription medications, medication samples, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, pet medications and non-controlled DEA drugs. Police said they will not accept any liquids, ointments, illegal substances or narcotics, thermometers, IV bags, sharps or needles, bloody or infectious waste, and empty containers.
