Geneva Police To Raise Money For Special Olympics With Tip-A-Cop Event

A portion of the sales and 100 percent of donations made during the event at FoxFire Restaurant will benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

GENEVA, IL — Geneva police officers will take on new roles as servers April 25 as part of a fundraising effort for Special Olympics.

Officers will work from 5-9 p.m. at FoxFire Restaurant, 17 W. State St., during which a portion of sales and 100 percent of donations will benefit Special Olympics Illinois, a nonprofit that helps provide equipment, attire and health supplies for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Guests can also participate in a 50/50 drawing that night.

The Tip-A-Cop event is one of the efforts part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a collaborative effort between officers across the nation working to raise money for the nonprofit.

Dinner reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 630-232-1369.

"The Geneva Police Department appreciates the public's support for this worthy mission," officials said in a news release Monday.
