Geneva Property Crimes Down, Violent Crime Stays The Same: FBI Crime Data
Crime stats from 2016 were released this past week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting Program.

GENEVA, IL – Geneva has seen property crimes go down from 2015 to 2016 while violent crimes stayed the same during that same time frame. Geneva crime stats from 2016 were released this past week as part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting Program.
Crime in the United States 2016 is a compilation of information reported to the FBI by more than 16,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Here is a look at violent crime stats from 2016 for Geneva and how those stats compare to 2015:
- There were 11 violent crimes in 2016 and the same number in 2015 in Geneva
- There was one murder in 2016 while there were no murders in 2015
- There were four rapes reported in 2016 in Geneva and one rape in 2015
- There was one robbery in 2016 and one also in 2015
- There were five aggravated assaults in 2016 and nine reported in 2015

- There were 187 property crimes in Geneva in 2016 and 205 in 2015
- There were 23 burglaries in 2016 and 20 in 2015
- In 2016, there were 160 larceny-theft reports and there 185 reports in 2015
- There were four motor vehicle thefts in 2016 and no such reports in 2015
- There were four arson reports in 2016 and two in 2015
