Geneva Teen Arrested For Possessing Pills Without Prescription

The 18-year-old was taken into custody following a search of his home turned up Xanax pills that he did not have a prescription for.

KANE COUNTY, IL – An 18-year-old Geneva man faces drug charges after authorities found 36 Xanax pills on him that he did not have a prescription for, police said Wednesday. Jacob Keen, of 747 Anderson Boulevard, was taken into custody Tuesday morning in the basement of his home after authorities served a search warrant at the residence. Prior to his arrest, police allegedly found Keen throwing what appeared to be prescription pills into a sump pump pit, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Police conducted the search at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday following a weeklong drug investigation, which involved members of the Kane Co. Sheriff's office and officers from the Geneva and Batavia police departments.

Authorities found 36 Xanax pills on Keen, according to the news release. The estimated street value of the pills is $720.

Keen was arrested and taken to the Kane County Adult Justice Center. He is charged with manufacture/delivery of a prescription drug, a class 3 felony; possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony; obstruction of justice, a class 4 felony; and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Keen appeared for a bond hearing and was released "on his own recognizance," according to authorities.
