Geneva High School graduate Logan McConnell has signed a letter-of-intent to play men’s lacrosse at Missouri Valley College in the team’s inaugural season in the spring of 2014.

McConnell joins Missouri Valley College after a successful high school career. He was named his high school’s best defender in 2009, best longstick middle in 2010, and best longstick in both 2011 and 2012. Other honors include being a member of the 2009 Chicago Select All-Star Team, and being selected to the New Wave All-Star team in both the summer and winter of 2010 and 2011.

McConnell was named the 2011 Chicago Freeze Tournament MVP, and was named the 2011 New Wave U-17 Elite Team Best Defender.

He also has two seasons of coaching experience, have been on the New Wave Lacrosse Club staff in 2012 and 2013 and was the Geneva High School’s assistant junior varsity coach in 2013 helping lead the team to a conference championship.

“I am very excited about Logan joining the program and what he has to offer,” said MVC Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Kevin Totaro. “With this being the program’s first season, I’m hoping our first recruiting class will make a big impact.”

The MVC men’s lacrosse team is coached by Kevin Totaro, who enjoyed a successful college lacrosse career at Hartford Community College and Shenandoah University, where he was team captain and led the team during the 2010 season. The MVC lacrosse team will be a future member of the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference.

McConnell plans to major in business with a minor in communications and is the son of Patrick and Christine McConnell of Geneva.
