"Great Decisions" Monthly Programming

Public invited to programming hosted by Center for Lifelong Learning at Windsor Park Retirement Community

The Center for Lifelong Learning at Windsor Park Retirement Community is offering a monthly program entitled “Great Decisions,” America’s largest discussion program on world affair topics selected by a panel of experts through the Foreign Policy Association. The first program is slated for Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. and will continue on the second Friday of each month through June (except in December). Registration is required by Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 by calling Adrian Ursache at 630-510-5545. Windsor Park is located at 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream, Ill.

Dates are as follows: Oct. 9 and Nov. 13, 2015; and Jan. 8, Feb. 12, March 11, April 8, May 13 and June 10, 2016.

Topics selected by the Foreign Policy Association include “Russia and the Near Abroad,” “Privacy in the Digital Age,” “Sectarianism in the Middle East,” “India Changes Course,” “U.S. Policy Toward Africa,” “Syria’s Refugee Crisis,” “Human Trafficking in the 21st Century,” and “Brazil’s Metamorphosis.” Each session will involve a video, a briefing by a facilitator, and a discussion period. Participants are asked to read an analysis of the issues in a briefing book, which will be provided at a cost of $20.

“Great Decisions” is sponsored by the Center for Lifelong Learning at Windsor Park Retirement Community, which presents opportunities for continuing growth and enrichment through education and the creative and performing arts. Three resident-run task forces initiate and plan upcoming events and other opportunities for residents. Many events are open to the public.
