Heartland Elementary Students Raise $3,400 for Marklund
The money was raised during 12th annual Run From the Heart on October 16.

Heartland Elementary School and the Kids with Heart PTO Committee raised more than $3,400 for Marklund during the 12th annual Run From the Heart on October 16.
Run From the Heart is a charity event where the students participate in a kids’ dash and/or one mile fun run while donating 100% of the registration money to a local charity. This year’s charity – as voted on by the Heartland student body – was Marklund, a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.

Several Marklund residents and their care-givers also participated with 180 Heartland students in the Run From the Heart, which raised a total of $3,448.50.
