How Diverse is Geneva?

City officials will host a community conversation on this topic on Feb. 21.

From The City of Geneva:The City is recognizing African-American History Month by inviting the public to participate in a community conversation about diversity in Geneva.Hosted by the City’s Strategic Plan Advisory Committee, the community dialogue will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in City Hall’s Council Chambers, 109 James St.After a short video presentation, Mayor Kevin Burns will moderate a panel discussion with Aurora University professor Dr. Jerry Butters and Geneva History Museum Executive Director Terry Emma, who will respectively discuss both national historical perspectives and local experiences for African-Americans in Geneva.The Strategic Plan Advisory Committee invites the public to participate in this important conversation and offer input on how Geneva may ensure it is a welcoming community to everyone.No RSVPs are required to attend the community conversation, but space is limited.
