How to Post Your Garage Sales on Patch

Whether you're looking to jettison junk or in search of treasure, Patch is the place to go.

It's August, which means , and your time is running out for that garage sale you've been promising yourself you'd get done this summer.

Don't wait, dang it!

Here at Geneva Patch we pride ourselves on local, useful information. (OK, I didn't write that sentence. Can you tell?) That includes which residents are have books for a bargain, a dresser in their driveway or some clothes laid out on the lawn.

Posting your garage sale on Geneva Patch is easy (really!) and, even better, it's free! You must be registered on Geneva Patch and logged in to enter an event, so do that first at geneva.patch.com/login. (If you're signing up for a new account, remember that our Terms of Use do not allow aliases.)

Then click on our "Events" tab on the top of the page and on "Put it on the calendar ... Yes!" (the Yes! after the ellipsis is mine, and fictional) near the top right corner. Or just go to Geneva.patch.com/events/new.

Fill out the form, adding information about your sale. You can enter as little or as much as you'd like, but be sure to enter your address and check off "Garage Sales" under categories. When you're all done, click on the "Post My Event" button on the bottom left of the screen, and voila!

You can even upload photos of the stuff you're selling.

And if you're just looking to visit a few garage sales around town, click on "Events" and then "Garage Sales" and you'll be on your way to making thousands on dollars on the detritus you've collected over the centuries in your palatial Geneva mansion. (Guess which part of that last sentence was written by me. :)
