Inaugural Fall Author Fest At Geneva Library To Feature Book Signings

GENEVA, IL — For Geneva Public Library's inaugural Fall Author Fest, several authors will sell and sign their books at events on three days in November.

The events are intended to celebrate authors, literature and storytelling, organizers said.

The Fall Author Fest will begin Nov. 3 with the Children's Book Author Fest. From noon to 3 p.m., locals can drop in at the library, 227 S. Seventh St., to meet authors and illustrators, buy their books via Harvey's Tales bookstore, and get copies signed.

Authors Tom Lichtenheld ("The Umbrella," "Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site"), Anitra Rowe Schulte ("Willow and Bunny") and Jacob Grant ("Umami," "No Fair!") are slated to participate in the children's fair.

A week later, on Nov. 10, Jason Fagone, the bestselling author of "The Woman Who Smashed Codes," will give a presentation about his book, which shares the tale of codebreaker Elizabeth Smith Friedman, who got her start at Geneva's Riverbank Laboratories. He will also sign books, but none will be for sale at the event.

Registration is required for Fagone's event, which is planned from 1:30-3 p.m.

The final Fall Author Fest event will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. Nov. 16. Local literary talent Annie Cathryn ("The Friendship Breakup") and J.B. Michaels ("The Mac and Millie Mysteries") will give talks about their books and sign copies, which authors will also sell directly. No registration is required.
