Indian Knoll Elementary Teachers Shake Things Up At McDonald's

Local teachers serve students and families on McTeacher's Night to raise money for the schools PTO.

West Chicago| Indian Knoll Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School's PTO.

Teachers from West Chicago School District 33 volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, April 23rd at the McDonald's located on Rt. 59. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for the Elementary Schools PTO.

Several teachers and PTO Members worked during this three-hour event. Health Teacher Emily Phamornsuwana wore the Pie Costume the entire night, while alongside her several teachers helped to sell the pies and enjoyed taking pictures with many of the Indian Knoll Students.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Indian Knoll community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

John Lardas donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, The Lardas Family has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the West Chicago area.

“The teachers and everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event” are the fabric that strengthens our community,” Lardas said.

The proceeds from the 94 Apple Pies sold went directly to benefit Indian Knoll. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were also donated directly to the Indian Knoll PTO.
