'It Was A Dark And Stormy Christmas' To Open At Playhouse 38
The show, described as "an evening of dark, non-holiday comedy and music," will run for eight performances over two weekends.
GENEVA, IL — "It Was a Dark and Stormy Christmas," with dark, non-holiday comedy and music, is coming to Geneva Park District's Playhouse 38 for two weekends this winter.
Directed by Craig Gustafson, who has had several short plays published in anthologies, the play will run at 8 p.m. Nov. 17-19 and Dec. 1-3 at the theater, 321 Stevens St. Matinee showtimes, starting at 2 p.m., are available Nov. 20 and Dec. 4.
"An evening of dark, funny plays by Shel Silverstein, David Ives and Craig Gustafson, interspersed with songs by Tom Lehrer, 'It Was a Dark and Stormy Christmas' is a show for the Grinch in all of us," Director Craig Gustafson said in a statement. "It contains adult content, humor and almost nothing to do with the holidays."

The cast includes Larissa Catalano, Jennifer Ciombor, John Frankenthal, Dan Hitzemann, Peter Lemongelli and Lucy Smith. Christi Mabry is the production's assistant director and stage manager.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. They can be purchased through the park district's website or at Sunset Community Center or Stephen Persinger Recreation Center.
