John Stewart teachers serve up the fun!

Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher's Night to raise money for John Stewart PTN

Elburn| John Stewart Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and the Schools PTN.

Teachers,Administration, and support staff from John Stewart volunteered behind the counter and throughout the restaurant on Tuesday, May 21st at the Elburn McDonald's located on Center Avenue where they served students and their families in their annual McTeacher's Night fundraiser.

During this FUNdraising event teachers Drew, Hardy, and Kunstman each took a turn dressed in an Apple Pie costume. While teachers Gilkey, Argabright, Hartkopp, and Zollers all helped sell pies alongside each of them. Several other school staff members tended the front counter, served food to their customers, presented food at the drive-thru, and tended the lobby.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Lardas said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Stewart community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

Lardas donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, Yanni Management has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the area.

“These teachers and everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event” is the fabric that strengthens our community,” Lardas said.
