July Artist of the Month at Geneva Public Library
Love dogs? Enjoy the dog portraits by Batavia artist Kevin Hunter

Batavia artist Kevin Hunter has a selection of his dog portraits on display this month at Geneva Public Library, 127 James St.
In May 2015, Hunter asked his Facebook friends to post photos of their dogs. He used the photos as reference to paint the portraits and then posted them for his friends to view and comment on. Although Hunter has been creating dog portraits in oil and pencil for nearly 20 years, this is the first time he attempted pet portraiture in watercolor.
“I think the unique characteristic about my pet portraits is that when you look at them you don’t see a generic breed painting that looks like every other dog painting. In my work you see and feel your specific pet,” he said. Learn more about Hunter’s work at www.kevinhunterart.com.
