GENEVA, IL — Two Kane County roadway maintenance projects will impact Geneva roads this summer, officials announced Wednesday.

Workers will be installing pavement markers on 236 miles of county highways, and in Geneva, that will impact parts of Kaneville, Keslinger and Peck roads as well as Fabyan Parkway. Work on the north end of the county will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday starting the week of July 5 and lasting until late September.

Temporary lane closures with flagger control at intersections will be required until roadways are restriped, officials said.

Starting July 11, routing and crack sealing will take place on 10 county highways, including Kaneville Road, west of Peck Road, in Geneva. Officials said crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The project is expected to last six to eight weeks.

Kaneville Road will remain open during treatment but will be reduced to one lane.

The crack sealing program is meant to increase the longevity of roads by sealing cracks to prevent water to enter and reduce the life of the pavement, officials said.
