Karaoke Contest To Benefit Schools: Geneva Idol

Come sing to benefit Geneva School District 304, or come enjoy the contest!

GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Academic Foundation is holding its Geneva Idol karaoke competition Jan. 26 to benefit educational resources at District 304 schools.

Singers 21 and older can compete at the event, which will be at 6 p.m. at EvenFlow Music and Spirits at 302 W. State St. in Geneva. Younger singers will be able to compete in April at EvenFlow.

A few Geneva school officials will judge the Geneva Idol contest; school board member Kelly Nowak, Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Teaching Andrew Barrett and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Adam Law, a release said, according to the Daily Herald.

They'll have karaoke performances, raffles and prizes, contests and music trivia, the Herald reported.

There are still openings for singers to sign up, individually or in a group. They're also seeking sponsors for the fun benefit. Anybody interested in sponsoring, or singing, can contact Wendy Rothaar at wentyrothaar@yahoo.com, according to the Herald.

Advanced tickets are $15 and can be bought at www.gafgeneva.org. Tickets are $20 at the door.
