Lane Closure Planned Next Week For East State Street Underground Utility Relocation
Other miscellaneous lane closures will occur in one-block increments, city officials said.
GENEVA, IL — A lane closure is planned next week as AT&T continues relocating its underground utilities on East State Street.
Geneva officials said crews will be working from Kane to Nebraska streets, which will require an eastbound lane to be shut down.
On Nicor's end, the company has been cutting and capping old gas service mains at several locations along the highway, city officials said. Drivers should expect miscellaneous lane closures from Route 25 to Glengarry Drive to make way for gas service work, which will take place in one-block increments.

HomeTowne Electric, a state subcontractor, has completed its temporary signal work and is scheduled to turn on the new signals the week of March 9.
The relocation work is required ahead of the Illinois Department of Transportation's plan to rebuild East State Street from Glengarry Drive to the Fox River. The full project will likely begin in the spring and be completed in late 2027.
