Local Nicor Gas employee honored with 2025 Luminary Award
From a Brand Partner: Award includes $5,000 donation to Northern Illinois Food Bank in recognition of Lytle's service
Southern Company Gas has announced Liz Lytle as the recipient of its 2025 Luminary Award, an annual recognition celebrating employees who exemplify the company’s values, advance its mission and make a lasting impact in the communities they serve.
Lytle, a Customer Experience Supervisor in Energy Assistance at Nicor Gas, has turned her passion for helping others into meaningful action. In 2025 alone, she dedicated 135 volunteer hours and now serves as a volunteer supervisor with the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Through her work, Lytle helps ensure that individuals and families have barrier‑free access to nutritious food delivered with dignity and respect.
The Luminary Award recognizes the achievements of team members like Liz whose dedication to service fuels our communities. In honor of her support for our neighbors, the Southern Company Gas Foundation awarded a $5,000 gift to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
The Luminary Award highlights outstanding employees who inspire others through service and leadership. Lytle’s commitment to addressing food insecurity reflects both Southern Company Gas’ and Nicor Gas’ broader mission to support communities and improve lives.
