Local Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.

Several local students have been named National Merit semifinalists.

Semifinalists include Jacob W. Martin, Caleb W. Peery and Benjamin G. Henja, all Batavia High School students; Austin J. Born, Iva Monique T. Gramatikov and Benhjamin A. McNichols, all St. Charles East High School students; and Tegan M. Keigher, a St. Charles North High School student.

The National Merit scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Semifinalists must advance to finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standard, receiving a recommendation from their principal and earning SAT scores that confirm the earlier qualifying test performance.
