Looking to Get Out? Here Are a Funky 5 for the Fun of It!

Plenty on the to-do list if you'd like to shake the winter blues and get out this weekend.

As said in her , the best way to beat the February blues is to get out and do something. Here are five weekend ideas in or darned close to Geneva.

Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at , 416 McKinley Ave.

Why go? Because this season is remarkable. Even if you're not a sports fan, it's a wonderful, compelling story. Coach Gina Nolan's amazing battle back from breast cancer, a super-powerful team that's had to learn it's not invincible, senior players like Kat Yelle who has four years on the varsity and is almost surely is a future GHS Hall-of-Famer, playing on senior recognition night, and it could decide the UEC River Division championship. Great entertainment at a very low price.

Pricing: I think it might be $5, but I'm not certain.

Where/When: 119 N 3rd St, St. Charles (The St. Charles VFW Post), 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12

Why go? Because this is the main event when it comes to fun an fundraising for the All-Sports Boosters. Bring an appetizer to share with your team table. VFW will provide a cash bar.

And proceeds benefit the infants, children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities who are served by Marklund.
