'Manpower Issues' Said to Cause Metra West Line Delays

Some trains were operating an hour behind schedule this morning.

Some trains on the Union Pacific West Line were operating nearly an hour behind schedule this morning. 

The delays are caused by "manpower issues," according to Metra's website and numerous e-mail alerts. 

At least six trains were canceled Monday morning, and many were running well-behind schedule.

A Metra spokesperson attributed the tardiness to a combination of family leave and staff training.
