May Artist of the Month at Geneva Public Library

Greater Geneva Art Guild member Lorraine Ochsner displays her watercolors.

Geneva Public Library’s May artist is Lorraine Ochsner. Her watercolors are displayed on the lower level of the Library throughout the month.

Ochsner said her water colors are more than landscapes and florals, they reveal her respect for the environment and reflects nature with its placid and yet disconcerted attitudes. Her struggle is to attain a peaceful attitude through painting. A calm brush is used to invite the observer to a serene milieu and create a climate of calm. When Ochsner sees a sunset, a rare cloud formation or a beautiful blossom she wants to share the ambiance of the moment.

The Library seeks local artists to display their work in its Art Gallery on a monthly basis. Contact Jeannie Esposito at 630-313-1008 or visit www.gpld.org/artgallery.
