Missing Kane Co. Man Found Lying in Backyard, Expected to Survive: Police
An Elgin Township resident called to report she had found the man Tuesday afternoon lying on her property.

A 64-year-old man reported missing Monday morning was found Tuesday lying on the ground in a heavily-wooded area in Elgin Township,
Authorities responded to the property on Lisa Lane where they found Daniel Yohnke. He was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Yohnke had been outside in the extreme heat all day Monday and Tuesday, said Kane County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Patrick Gengler.

Authorities had been searching for Yohnke for over a day when they received a call Tuesday afternoon from a woman who said she found the man in her back yard in a wooded area near the edge of her property, according to the news release.
Yohnke’s wife reported him missing Monday morning after he walked away from his family home on Peppertree Lane in Elgin Township.

It is unclear why he left the house without letting his family know. Police said he had attempted suicide in the past.
