New Home Decor Shop Opens Downtown St. Charles

Chrysalis Unique Home Décor at 108 State Avenue in Downtown St. Charles is a new retail store featuring a collection of clothing, art, furniture, home décor and conversation pieces.

Owners and St. Charles residents Kathy Munyon and Lauri Clark are excited to share their joy of finding ways to repurpose items and give new life to furniture, decor, and articles of clothing. “We love diamonds in the rough.” says Clark. For example, the store features a collection of up-cycle, renewed, and re-treasured finds. Both women grew up crafting and making art with their mothers and grandmothers and can always see potential and make old pieces shine again. They also bounce creative ideas off each other and aren’t afraid to change it up. “We needed a creative outlet and found it in our Store”

Chrysalis owners have a knack for balancing the old with the new, which is demonstrated in their product offerings. In addition to repurposed items, shoppers can select from a variety of new merchandise including décor, accessories and spa items, for example.

The store is also gearing up for a new event, “Meet the Artist”, on August 29th. Dr. Rodger Goodspeed will showcase watercolors and acrylic paintings, as well as demonstrating his craft at store. The ladies at Chrysalis love bringing new and exciting art to the Downtown area which they love so much. “We love the shops in downtown St. Charles; they are more unique than anywhere else.” Says Munyon.
