Park District Announces Geneva's Got Talent Winner

Mary Hilbrink of Cary, Illinois was named the Geneva's Got Talent Winner and won the $1,000 grand prize.

From Geneva Park District: On Saturday, June 23, 2018, Mary Hilbrink of Cary, Illinois was named the Geneva’s Got Talent Winner and won the $1,000 grand prize. Mary performed “This is Me” from the movie The Greatest Showman.

The Geneva’s Got Talent competition began on May 26 with auditions at Sunset Community Center. Amazing singers, dancers, and musicians performed for a panel of judges. Based on these auditions, fourteen acts were chosen to move forward in the competition and perform at the semi-finals on Wednesday, June 20 on the Swedish Days Central Stage.

The fourteen semi-finalists included: Rocco Loffredi, Hanna Kizman, Mary Hilbrink, Brodie Pecor and Molly Cowett, Hutch Hoepner, Evelyn Majka and Amber Mamminga, Natalie Van Dorpe, Vivien Cohen, Heather Fox, Gweneth Nika, Tessa Helfers and Lena Bonnike, Skylar Wik, Matt Skirmont, Kiley Murray, Amelia Schultz, Lilia, Layla.

Judges and Facebook votes from the Geneva Park District Facebook page determined the participants who moved onto the semi-finals. Judges alone determined the Geneva’s Got Talent winner.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce and the Geneva Park District congratulate Mary Hilbrink and all of the other talented contestants who participated in this years’ event.

“This is a great event that brings the community and people of all ages together for free summer fun. The array of talent each year is just phenomenal,” said Traci Wicks, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Geneva Park District.

Geneva’s Got Talent is a collaboration between the Geneva Park District and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. It was part of the 2018 Swedish Days Festival supported by Northwestern Medicine.
