'Significant' Crash Closes Portion Of Kirk Road: Geneva Police

A car and semitruck crashed on Kirk Road, south of Cherry Lane, on Wednesday. One person has been taken to the hospital, police said.

GENEVA, IL — A portion of Kirk Road, from State Street to Fabyan Parkway, is closed Wednesday afternoon due to a "significant" car crash, police said.

A car and a semitruck crashed on Kirk Road, south of Cherry Lane, prompting the city's police and fire departments to respond to the scene. Police said one person has been taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva with injuries.

The road is expected to be closed "for at least a few hours" while police investigate, according to officials. Drivers should use Route 25, Route 31 or Randall Road as alternate routes.
